Best Fall Coffee Drinks You Can Make At Home to Save More Money for the Holidays + Recipes!

Let’s talk about the Best Fall Coffee Drinks You Can Make At Home to Save More Money! Yes, recipes are included!

Honestly, why pay for overpriced café drinks when you can make these delicious fall coffee drinks at home? 👀 Not only are homemade coffees cheaper, but also convenient, customizable and practically limitless!

Fall Coffee Drinks

I have been making my own coffee at home for the past 1.5 years now. I used to get free drinks, coffee beans, and food from working at Starbucks, but after I quit, I noticed just how much they eat up your wallet! I used to spend up to $100 on Starbucks per month! How baffling is that! And I read that a good amount of people spend in the low to high $200’s. Yikes.

This fall, I challenge you to save up the money you spend on cafe coffee (no matter the amount!) and instead use those extra funds toward your holiday spendings. Easier said than done if you don’t know how to make good coffee 😝. Which is exactly what this post is for! To get you excited about making coffee at home (because it will taste yummy) while saving money :).

WITH THAT SAID, HERE ARE THE BEST FALL COFFEE DRINKS YOU CAN MAKE AT HOME TO SAVE MORE MONEY

Homemade Coffee Drinks Money Saving Tips

  1. Buy in Bulk
Coffee beans last a long time just as long as you store them correctly. I recommend purchasing the bigger sizes from Costco than at Starbucks or Target. Costco Coffee Beans selections are just as good, bigger in size and equal the price.
  2. Make Your Own Coffee Syrup v. Buy Premade Coffee Syrup
This depends on your own preference and what you are trying to make. You will probably pay around the same price for the ingredients as a premade flavored syrup. BUT if you are looking to save more money, making the syrup at home allows you to have more servings than buying it pre-made. You can also customize it to your own taste preference.
The only thing is, the first few tries are experimental so you will probably waste the first couple batches. Also, there are a variety of Premade Coffee Syrup flavors that can be difficult or more expensive to make at home. So, it also depends on what flavors you are trying to replicate.
  3. Make Your Own Cold Brew At Home v. Buy Premade Cold Brew
It is a bit more expensive to purchase coffee beans + a coffee grinder + cold brew jar. Altogether, you are looking to spend around $50 for all of that, but it will make you far more servings than a 64 oz Premade Cold Brew bottle. Premade cold brew can be more convenient, and it can be a cheaper option for you if you are not much of a cold brew drinker.
  4. A Coffee Machine v. Instant Coffee
A coffee machine is definitely something you need to save up for! + The pods/capsules are additional costs. BUT in comparison to buying starbucks or cafe coffee daily, you are definitely saving money. From my own experience, instant coffee does not satisfy my coffee cravings as much as my nespresso does. But instant coffee can go a long way and can save you lots of money.
  5. Save Money on Nespresso Capsules with Foil Seals Lids
I have tried the Vertuo Capsule Foil Seals Lids and they work the same as the nespresso ones. The one I use is Geesta Easy Seal Coffee Capsule Refill Kit! The shots brew the same, still has the full bodied coffee flavor and no coffee grinds spill through. Note that you do have to grind the coffee beans med-fine!
  6. Frother v Frothing Wand
A frothing wand works just as good as a frother to be honest. And it is far cheaper! A frother is just more convenient in the mornings when you are in a rush and it does allow you to froth both hot and cold.
  7. Nespresso v Keurig v Espresso Machine
Out of all 3, a Nespresso does provide more affordable coffee machine options. High quality espresso machines are incredibly expensive, $500+! If you are looking at the cheaper ones that cost around $60, I would not bother!
A keurig can go a long way as well, but it is mostly recommended for iced coffee, cold brew drinkers, not latte lovers. Keurig’s brew at low pressures whereas Nespresso’s uses a high pressure bar extraction system.
If you want a more full bodied, espresso style cup of coffee, I recommend Nespresso. If you want more of an iced coffee, cold brew style coffee, I recommend a Keurig.

All the recipes will be referencing shots pulled/coffee brewed by a nespresso machine. If you do not have a nespresso machine or any coffee machine, instant coffee works just as good! It does have a much bolder flavor, so customize to your liking. I will be including the measurements of instant coffee in the recipes too.

Key Fall Coffee Ingredients

Fall Coffee Drinks Ingredients

Most, if not all, of these ingredients are more than likely already stocked in your pantry. With that said, you are looking to spend around $15-$35+ for everything. Pre-made syrup and sauce may drive the price a little bit higher which is why I added a “+”.

You will find pretty much every ingredient at Target! PS: Most of these ingredient links to Target.
